Redmins Urges OneCoin Victims to Act Before DOJ Compensation Deadline

April 15, 2026 | Back to News

Coral Springs, FL – April 14, 2026 — Following the path set out by Redmins in a civil class action lawsuit filed by the law firm on behalf of entities and individuals victimized in the $4 billion OneCoin cryptocurrency Ponzi scheme, the U.S. Department of Justice has recently launched a criminal compensation process for victims of OneCoin, making more than $40 million in recovered assets available to eligible claimants.

Victims who contributed cryptocurrency or fiat currency to OneCoin between 2014 and 2019 and suffered net losses can file claims through the DOJ’s remission process. The deadline to submit is June 30, 2026.

Redmins, a law firm representing victims of investment and cryptocurrency fraud, is encouraging affected investors to act promptly while also recognizing the limitations of the government’s recovery efforts.

“While this is a meaningful step, the available funds represent only a small fraction of total losses,” said Redmins Managing Partner David Silver. “Moreover, it is vital that victims present authenticated, well-supported claims for restitution — without which, their claims might be rejected in favor of more solidly corroborated claims.”

OneCoin  was widely described in the class action lawsuit led by Redmins, as well as by law enforcement officials across the globe, as a global Ponzi scheme that defrauded investors of more than $4 billion. Although several individuals connected to the scheme have been convicted, significant funds remain unrecovered.

As the filing deadline approaches, victims are encouraged to gather relevant documentation, including transaction records and account statements. Redmins offers free consultations to individuals seeking to understand their legal options related to OneCoin or other cryptocurrency fraud losses, and Redmins will provide professional services to those victims seeking assistance in preparing and prosecuting their claims for mitigation.
